Blending Magazine

During a semester at Florence University of the Arts, I co-authored a feature for Blending, the school's Fashion, Media & Culture Magazine, about the women who shaped Florence's underground nightlife scene in the 1980s. Their story is one that rarely makes it into the city's history of art and fashion. I led interviews with two Florentine women who lived through the era and heard firsthand what those nights looked, sounded and felt like. Then I wrote the full feature, weaving their memories into a broader look at the culture and fashion of the time and at how a small, self-made scene shaped the city's style. The piece was published in the magazine's Spring/Summer 2025 issue. It brought together the parts of storytelling I love most: finding the people behind a moment, earning their trust, and turning real voices into a story that feels alive on the page.
